We Provide:
- De-Thatching
- Aeration
- Seeding/ Over seeding
- Fertilizer
- Weed Control
- Insect control
What is de-thatching?
DE-THATCHING is the vertical cutting and removal of dead plant material and other debris. This will reduce pest problems, speed the growth of new grass and increase the benefits from available fertilizer moisture and air.
A thick lawn also helps crowd out weeds.
The compost provides your grass with nutrients and helps establish the grass seed germination.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO RESEED LAWNS IN THE SPRING.
The fertilizer we use is a high quality 100% All-Natural ORGANIC ALFALFA BLEND, with NO sewer sludge nor animal by-products nor synthetics. Organic fertilizers maintain the nutrient balance within the soil with slow release nutrients. This balance helps to prevent turf diseases.
Water and fertilizer is very important for a healthy lawn.
A lawn should be watered three times per week to a depth of 5 cm. This helps to promote deep and strong root development. Never water every day for a short period of time. This promotes weak grasswith shallow roots that will have less resistance when the temperature is high.
In spring it is better to seed with compost. "WHERE THERE IS GRASS, THERE IS NO ROOM FOR WEEDS”. The grass will crowd out the weeds.
There are a number of ways to aerify grass areas, but the most common method for lawns and golf courses is to use a core aerifier. This machine is driven by a gas engine and is equipped with rotating round, hollow tines that lift out cores of earth each time they penetrate the surface.
After you have aerified your lawn is a good time to fertilize and top dress with good, weed-free top soil. If your grass appears to be too sparce, but reasonably free of weeds, this is also a good time to apply some good quality grass seed.
Nematodes are microscopic worms that attack most types of grubs in the soil. Nematodes should be applied twice. The first application in mid-May (temperature of 13 degrees or more). The second application in late August or early September to reduce the population of new grubs that have hatched over the summer.
